Maca’s Camping Grounds is situated on a 300 acre property 25 mins drive from Byron Bay and a 10 min drive from Mullumbimby.

Byron Bay is a world renowned holiday resort, whilst Mullumbimby has a more laid back feel.

Mullumbimby is a hub for creativity and has an eclectic abundance of cafes and restaurants to satisfy your culinary desires with international cuisine, great coffee, and food made from home grown spray free and organic local produce.

Our beautiful property, is situated in a sub tropical rain forest, offers low key camping , with the opportunity to relax and unwind under a macadamia tree, or gather chestnuts nuts to roast on your campfire.

Or… if you’re feeling adventurous you can cycle or walk the lush rainforest or to the local store where you can get a fantastic old-fashioned burger.

New to Camping?  We have tents to rent with an inflatable mattresses. We will set it up and take it down for you, so here is your opportunity to 'live simple'  ... for a day or two, at least!

Free Wifi is also available on the property.

We are family friendly and well-behaved dogs and other pets on leads are welcome.

We welcome tents, vans and caravans - altho we don't have levelled concrete pads with on-site plumbing.

Our pushbikes, kayaks and possibly the zip line (depending on availability) are all included free in your stay

Chill out …or get adventurous. It’s entirely up to you!

Our small permaculture garden grows yummy organic produce - sold at the local store and available to buy on the property.

Fresh eggs are available when the girls are laying.

All proceeds from our produce, goes back into upkeep of the garden and feeding and bedding for the girls.

Sit around one of the many campfires, reminiscing about the days when you were roasting marshmallows as a kid. (Please remember to bring your own firewood as we do not supply firewood on the property.)

Enjoy movies under the stars in the open arena next to the communal kitchen, with a fire to keep you warm in winter.

Drinking water and hot showers are available, clothes washing and drying facilities are available at minimal cost. The communal kitchen has a stove-top gas cooker, electric oven, pizza oven, microwave, 2 large fridges, freezer, kettle and toaster.

On the commercial side of things, in the new year (2021) we are intending to produce and sell Macas Rainforest Honey on the property as well as beginning to build what we call 'fold-up tiny homes' and continuing construction of our 'adventure park'.

Maca's camp, including this website, is built on the collaboration and philosophical foundations of permaculture.

Lastly, please keep in mind that we are not a cookie-cutter, cattle-pen style campsite. If you are looking for something possibly a little outside of the proverbial nine dots, please come and enjoy what we have to offer. Please don't judge us too harshly for what you think we don't have or should be.
